Ukrainian protesters seize justice ministry in Kiev

Posted:

KIEV (AFP) - Dozens of Ukrainian protesters on Sunday seized the justice ministry in Kiev, smashing its windows, an AFP correspondent reported. The protesters appeared to have encountered no resistance and already begun erecting barricades outside the building with rubbish containers. The Ukrainian opposition on Sunday said a compromise deal offered by President Viktor Yanukovych was not enough to end the country's worst crisis since independence as nationwide protests spread to the president's eastern heartland. With Ukraine shaken by a week of violence between police and protesters, all three main Ukrainian opposition leaders personally attended the Kiev funeral of one of three activists confirmed to have been shot dead in the unrest. The protests began over two months ago over Yanukovych's rejection of a pact with the European Union under Russian pressure but have now turned into an all-out bid to oust him from power.Tensions remained high in Kiev as several dozen protesters seized control late Sunday of the Justice Ministry, smashed windows and erected barricades based around rubbish containers outside, an AFP correspondent reported.Europe has urged dialogue between the two sides -- a call echoed by Pope Francis who voiced hope in his weekly Angelus prayer on St Peter's Square that the search for common good may prevail in the hearts of all.Under unprecedented pressure, Yanukovych late Saturday offered the opposition posts in government including that of prime minister but his opponents said that the offer fell short of what they needed.Yanukovych offered to share leadership with Fatherland party leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk as prime minister and UDAR (Punch) chief and world boxing champion Vitali Klitschko as deputy prime minister.Klitschko, who is believed to have a personal rivalry with Yatsenyuk, branded the proposals poisoned in an interview with German newspaper Bild am Sonntag. This was a poisoned offer by Yanukovych designed to split our opposition movement, he was quoted as saying. Opposition leaders have been careful, however, neither accepting nor explicitly rejecting Yanukovych's proposals. They have said talks will continue although it is not clear exactly when.Yanukovych's office has also said the president is willing to consider constitutional changes to reduce his power and return to a system according more authority to the prime minister.A crucial day in the standoff is expected to be Tuesday when parliament will meet in extraordinary session to debate key sticking points in the crisis, including possible changes to key protest laws.

Egyptian diplomats seized in Libya freed in swap

Posted:

TRIPOLI (AFP) - Five Egyptian diplomats kidnapped in Tripoli following the arrest in Egypt of a former Libyan rebel commander were released Sunday as part of a swap, officials said. The abduction of the five on Saturday and of another member of the Egyptian embassy's staff a day earlier came after Shaaban Hadeia, a prominent commander in the rebellion that ousted Moamer Kadhafi in 2011, was arrested in Alexandria. The Egyptians' release was confirmed after Hadeia, head of the Operations Centre of Libya's Thuwar (revolutionaries), announced his release himself on television. The five diplomats and a further member of staff of the Egyptian embassy are free, Libyan Deputy Foreign Minister Abderrazak al-Gridi told AFP.They are at home and they are safe. They were treated well and their health is good, Gridi said, without elaborating on the circumstances of their release.A Libyan security official speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity said the kidnappers freed the six as part of a deal between Tripoli and Cairo. The official said the kidnappers, who have not been identified, demanded the release of Hadeia, also known by his nom de guerre Abu Obeida. The first batch of Egyptian hostages was freed on Sunday. The two other members of the embassy will be freed when Abu Obeida arrives in Libya, the security source had explained before the final releases. The Operations Centre had posted on Facebook that there could be a possible reaction from the thuwar. But one of the group's leaders, Adel al-Ghariani, told AFP they were not involved in the kidnappings. The presidency of the General National Congress, Libya's highest political authority, has ordered its mission in Cairo to demand an explanation for the ex-rebel leader's arrest.Egypt's foreign ministry spokesman Badr Abdelatty had confirmed Hadeia was detained in Egypt but did not say why.If Hadeia's involvement is not established, naturally we will release him, Abdelatty told AFP, adding that investigations were ongoing.

Trierweiler arrives in India after split with Hollande

Posted:

MUMBAI (AFP) - Valerie Trierweiler, the ex-partner of French President Francois Hollande, arrived in India Monday on a charity mission despite an announcement two days earlier that the couple have split.Trierweiler will promote a French charity in the financial hub Mumbai during the two-day trip, in her first public appearance since it emerged that Hollande was having an affair with a French actress. She arrived at Mumbai international airport on an Air France flight just after midnight from Paris for the mission organised by Action Against Hunger (Action Contre la Faim, ACF), despite no longer being France's first lady.Trierweiler, wearing a navy coat, did not speak with some 50 media gathered, and instead walked from the terminal building to a waiting car which was expected to take her to the luxury Taj Mahal hotel, an AFP reporter said. Her entourage said she was accompanied on her India trip by a presidential bodyguard. A source close to her said: She is on good terms with the president and she is better.Hollande, 59, told AFP on Saturday he has split with longstanding partner Trierweiler, 48, after press revelations two weeks ago of his affair with 41-year-old actress Julie Gayet.Trierweiler was hospitalised for a week after news broke of Hollande's involvement with Gayet, and she had since then been holed up in a presidential retreat outside Paris.Trierweiler, who was treated in hospital for a bout of tiredness brought on by the scandal, had been invited to India in her official capacity, ACF has said.An ACF official told AFP before she left Paris that there is no doubt about her coming to Mumbai, adding that the charity was however working on different assumptions -- meaning her schedule in India may change. The charity is paying for the long-planned trip, which is financed mostly by private Indian partners. In Mumbai Trierweiler will visit a hospital where ACF has a feeding project for malnourished children and witness a training programme for medical staff, the charity has said. She will lunch with the wives of top local businessmen and attend a charity gala dinner at the Taj hotel where she is staying. The dinner has been organised to promote ACF's local charity partner Fight Hunger Foundation, with Trierweiler the guest of honour and whose sponsors include Moet and Chandon. She will be shown around the city by French actress Charlotte Valandrey, who is involved in the cause of promoting organ donations and transplants. The visit is expected to generate intense press interest given the scandal and her refusal so far to speak about it. A press conference is planned for Monday but Trierweiler herself may not address the media, ACF has said.Trierweiler visited India in February last year when, accompanied by the president, she visited a shelter for street children in New Delhi and spoke of her desire as First Lady to become a champion of children's rights.India at the time decided to treat Trierweiler as if she were Hollande's wife, resolving a potential protocol headache in the conservative country.Trierweiler is a glamorous, twice-divorced career journalist who has three children of her own and had been Hollande's partner for eight years.Although she was not married to Hollande, she assumed the role of first lady at official functions after Hollande was elected president in May, 2012.Hollande has not denied an affair with Gayet but has so far steadfastly refused to answer questions about his love life.

21 dead as boat capsizes off India's Andaman and Nicobar islands

Posted:

NEW DELHI (AFP) - A tourist boat capsized off India's remote Andaman and Nicobar islands on Sunday, leaving 21 people dead as rescuers continued to search in the dark for those feared still missing, officials said. The private boat carrying around 43 tourists, thought to be mostly Indians, plus crew sank quickly after taking on water between Ross Island and North Bay near the island's capital Port Blair, a senior official said.Anand Prakash, Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, told AFP that 21 people were killed in the tragedy.By all reports, it (the boat) sank quite quickly and didn't give passengers much of a chance to get out of there, he said by phone from the control room of the rescue operation.Whether the boat broke open and water poured in, we don't know, said Prakash, adding that an investigation was under way into the cause of the accident. But the boat was bad.Another 20 people have been pulled alive from the water following the accident late Sunday afternoon, Prakash said. Search efforts that include the coast guard, navy and police were ongoing, aided by a helicopter with a spotlight for two to three people still feared to be missing, he added. The Aqua Marine ferrying the passengers between the two popular spots capsized in Port Blair harbour, located in the Andamans, about one kilometre from shore during calm seas, Prakash said. Some people could see the boat starting to sink from shore so quite a few boats took off from the harbour to try to help, he said.Earlier Indian media had reported the accident took place some 25 kilometres (15 miles) off the coast of Port Blair.India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed shock over the tragedy and condoled the loss of lives. Singh also said in a statement that he has asked the country's national agencies to help in the rescue and relief operation. Those rescued have been taken to a hospital in Port Blair, with several of them seriously injured, an official said. The bodies have also been taken to the same hospital, the unnamed official told AFP by phone from the town. The boat was carrying a large group of tourists from Kanchipuram in India's southern state of Tamil Nadu, the official said, while local media reported that some were from the country's financial hub Mumbai. However authorities were canvassing hotels in Port Blair to confirm the names of all of the tourists who were on board the boat, the official added. An investigation by the judicial district magistrate was under way into the cause of the accident, the official said. A list of the dead and injured was expected to be released soon, and helpline numbers have been set up for those concerned about missing relatives and friends. The Andaman and Nicobar islands, comprising some 572 islands, are located between the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal.Though they are Indian territory, they are at least 1,000 kilometres from the mainland and are closer to the coast of Myanmar. The sprawling archipelago, badly hit by the 2004 Asian tsunami, is home to rare indigenous tribes and attracts tourists drawn to its unspoilt beauty.

Tennis: Devastated Nadal says injury made win impossible

Posted:

MELBOURNE (AFP) - A devastated Rafael Nadal wiped away tears Sunday as he said a sudden back problem made it impossible to win the Australian Open final, after his latest injury nightmare at Melbourne Park. The top seed was denied a 14th Grand Slam title by in-form Swiss star Stanislas Wawrinka, who was crowned champion with a 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory.Nadal, who was still distraught and fighting back tears as his press conference started, said he first felt a twinge during the warm-up, and the problem gradually got worse. It was a little bit worse in the first set. End of the first set, I start to feel worse, he said. Then at the beginning of the second was the key moment that I felt, during a serve in a bad movement, it's very stiff, very bad.He took a medical timeout when 2-1 down in the second set and bravely battled on, but his movement was restricted and the pace of his serves dropped significantly.Despite clearly being in pain, the Spaniard never considered calling it quits.Last thing that I wanted to do was a retirement. No, I hate to do that, especially in a final, he said.Same time, it's tough... during the whole year you are working for a moment like this, and it arrives and you feel that you are not able to play at your best.So it was not an easy situation for me to be on court like this, but I tried hard until the end, trying to finish the match as good as I can for the crowd, for the opponent, for me.Despite rallying to unexpectedly clinch the third set, with Wawrinka apparently unsettled by the medical timeout, Nadal said he was never going to win.I tried everything until the last moment, but was impossible to win this way. The opponent is too good, he said.I'm obviously disappointed and very sad about what happened. But that's life, that's sport. It was bitter blow for the 27-year-old, who has struggled in the past with injury at Melbourne Park and failed to replicate the success here he has found at the other Slams. He missed the 2006 and 2013 editions through injury, had to retire injured against Andy Murray in 2010, and in 2011 he was hit by a muscle strain during his defeat to David Ferrer.Of his 13 Grand Slam successes, only one has come in Melbourne, in 2009, a particularly painful statistic as it was one of his favourite tournaments. It's true that I was not very lucky and this is a tournament that is painful for me, he said. It is a tournament that I love so much. It's a tournament that I feel the conditions are good for me, warm conditions that I like, good crowd, a court that is faster than the previous ones. But despite the disappointment, he remained philosophical. That's part of life. That's part of sport. It's not the end of the world. It's just another tough moment. It's not the first, he said.I'm going to keep playing, going to keep training hard, and I'm going to keep enjoying the world of tennis.I feel very lucky to be able to work in something that I really love to do. Not everybody's able to do that. Just a bad day, tough day.

Football: Ghana win sets up CHAN semi-final against Nigeria

Posted:

BLOEMFONTEIN (AFP) - Ghana defeated DR Congo 1-0 in the final African Nations Championship quarter-final on Sunday, setting up a West African derby against rivals Nigeria in the last-four.A 67th minute penalty was enough to see Ghana through, Kwabina Adusei slotting his place kick comfortably past the Congolese keeper.Congo had a few half chances to pull it back, but never really looked like equalising. On 83 minutes Ghanaian striker Mohammed Yahaya should have put it beyond doubt. Clear through on goal he shot the ball directly into the keeper's body.At the end of the day the extra goal was not needed. Ghana won 1-0.Ghana's victory ends the quarter-finals, which also saw Zimbabwe, Libya and Nigeria go through.Earlier in the evening Libya defeated Gabon on penalties in a hard fought quarter-final that finished 1-1 after extra-time. They will now face Zimbabwe.

Football: Oscar stunner puts Chelsea through in FA Cup

Posted:

LONDON (AFP) - Oscar helped Chelsea draw a line beneath Juan Mata's departure with a fine free-kick in a 1-0 win over Stoke City in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday. The Brazilian had dislodged Mata from his position as Chelsea's main playmaker, prompting the Spaniard to join Manchester United, and the quality of his goal demonstrated why manager Jose Mourinho rates him so highly. The Blues failed to add to Oscar's first-half effort despite hitting the woodwork twice, although it was a largely comfortable victory, with Stoke rarely threatening to score an equaliser and force a replay.Chelsea's reward is a mouthwatering fifth round trip to Premier League rivals Manchester City.Mourinho opted to rest a number of senior players including John Terry and Petr Cech, but his decision to include Samuel Eto'o in his starting line-up raised eyebrows. The forward scored a hat-trick in the 3-1 victory over Manchester United seven days previously, but the manager had been expected to rest Eto'o and hand Demba Ba a rare start. However, Eto'o wasted little time justifying Mourinho's decision, quickly impressing himself on the Stoke back-line and drawing the foul that allowed Oscar to break the deadlock in spectacular style.Eto'o's smart turn and shot in the second minute suggested this would be a long afternoon for Stoke, who were hoping to repeat their Premier League victory over the Blues in early December. The visitors' initial response suggested otherwise, with Peter Crouch heading wide after getting ahead of his marker David Luiz three minutes later.Stoke struggled to put Cech's replacement Mark Schwarzer under real pressure, but they matched Chelsea in the midfield areas for long periods.Chelsea, though, looked capable of capitalising on any Stoke error and should have taken the lead from a breakaway after Marco Arnautovic gave the ball away carelessly inside the home half. Then, when Erik Pieters was penalised for a tackle from behind on Eto'o, Oscar produced a memorable free-kick that gave Mourinho's side a 27th-minute lead.Stoke complained angrily that the decision to penalise Pieters was harsh and television replays suggested they had a point.Their sense of injustice was fuelled when Oscar lifted the free-kick over the wall and into the top-left corner, bending so much that it wrong-footed Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.Begovic was back in the side after a six-game absence with a broken finger, but no blame could be laid at his door.Having finally broken through Stoke's defence, Chelsea took control of the remainder of the first half, although Stephen Ireland did provide a scare when he fired a left-foot shot into the side-netting.Oscar should have added a second goal when he broke into Begovic's area and beat the goalkeeper with a powerful shot that cannoned to safety off the upright. And Chelsea maintained their momentum after the break when Andre Schurrle found himself in a similar position before firing against the crossbar.Stoke offered little in return and could have been on the end of a more comprehensive defeat if Eto'o had not missed from close range late on, while Ramires had a penalty appeal turned down.

Football: New president, same old Barcelona back on top

Posted:

MADRID (AFP) - Barcelona put a stressful week off the field after the resignation of club president Sandro Rosell behind them to move back to the top of La Liga with a 3-0 win over Malaga on Sunday. With new president Josep Maria Bartomeu watching on from the directors' box, Gerard Pique swept home the opener from Xavi's corner five minutes before half-time.Pedro Rodriguez then made the game safe with a neat turn and finish from Lionel Messi's pass 10 minutes after the restart.Alexis Sanchez slotted home the third moments later from Pedro's cross for his 12th goal of the season. However, it was to be another frustrating evening for Messi in front of goal as his La Liga goal drought stretched to eight games.Atletico Madrid remain level on 54 points with the Catalans as they were 4-2 victors at Rayo Vallecano earlier on Sunday with both leaders a point ahead of third-placed Real Madrid.Sanchez came within inches of giving Barcelona the perfect start as his chip over Willy Caballero came back off the post after a fine through ball from Cesc Fabregas.Victor Valdes then had to beat away Duda's free-kick at the other end, but Barca were soon back on the attack and Messi nearly had his much-desired goal when he also dinked the ball beyond Caballero only to see it drift just past the post. However, it was only a matter of time before Barcelona made the breakthrough and it was Pique who was in the right place to fire home Sanchez's knockdown for his second goal in as many league games.Caballero kept the hosts at bay at the beginning of the second period as he made fine saves from Sanchez and Fabregas, whilst Pique headed another Xavi corner off the post.Pedro finally found a way past the Argentine keeper as he received Messi's pass before cutting inside to curl the ball accurately into the bottom corner.Another Messi dash started the move that led to the third goal as he again fed Pedro and this time the Spanish international squared for Sanchez to tap home.Atletico kept up the pressure on Barca with a comfortable win of their own at struggling Rayo.David Villa put the visitors in front after just eight minutes with his 11th goal of the season, but Diego Simeone's men were thankful to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois moments later as he saved Jonathan Viera's penalty.Arda Turan doubled Atletico's advantage at the end of a fine team move involving Diego Costa and Jose Sosa before Viera's deflected strike had briefly given Rayo hope. The visitors restored their two-goal cushion before half-time, though, as Turan slotted home Gabi's free-kick from a tight angle at the back post.Saul Niguez's then put through his own net under pressure from Costa to make it 4-1 before Joaquin Larrivey's headed consolation rounded off the scoring. With top-scorer Costa still to score in seven games in 2014, Villa's return to goalscoring form has come just at the right time and he slotted away the opener confidently from Costa's unselfish cut-back.And Spain's all-time leading scorer was delighted to net his second goal in as many league games.I am very happy to be able to help the team get the victory and score a goal, said Villa. It is very important to continue winning, particularly away from home.Athletic Bilbao also enhanced their chances of playing Champions League football next season with a crushing 5-1 win over Osasuna to move five points clear of Villarreal in fourth.

Golf: Korda birdies last hole to win Bahamas LPGA Classic

Posted:

PARADISE ISLAND (AFP) - Jessica Korda's unusual birdie at the 72nd hole lifted her to a one-shot triumph over Stacy Lewis Sunday in the season-opening Bahamas LPGA Classic.Tied for the lead with Lewis as she arrived at the Ocean Club Golf Course's par-five finishing hole, Korda found the fairway with her drive. Her second shot went through the back of the green, stopping near some cables at the base of the grandstand. Her caddie and a tournament official held the cables up as she putted onto the green to within five feet of the pin, and when she converted the birdie her the 20-year-old's second LPGA Tour victory was complete. That was different -- it was like a jump rope, said Korda, calling the win Incredible. She said she was so nervous she could barely put the golf ball down for her final putt.Korda, who started the final round two shots off the lead, fired a seven-under-par 66 and finished with a 19-under winning total of 273.Her previous LPGA Tour win came at the 2012 Women's Australian Open.Lewis, who played a group ahead of Korda, also shot 66 and was alone in second on 18-under 274.Overnight leader Choi Na-Yeon of South Korea carded a 72 to finish tied for third on 276, level with Americans Paula Creamer (69) and Lizette Salas (71) and Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum (67).Lydia Ko shot 68 and shared seventh with three others on 277 in her first LPGA Tour event as a member. The 16-year-old New Zealander, who won four professional tournaments as an amateur before turning pro last year, was the first player since Korda to successfully petition LPGA Tour commissioner Michael Whan for early membership.

Former cricket chiefs attack ICC's 'big three' plan

Posted:

PARIS (AFP) - Former cricket chiefs on Sunday attacked the International Cricket Council's (ICC) proposal for greater decision-making powers for a three-strong group of the Board of Control for Cricket. The trio concerned are India, Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board -- who between them represent the game's wealthiest nations. The ICC are due to discuss the controversial plan -- which has been drafted because of an apparent threat by India to withdraw from major global events unless there is radical reform of the ICC -- in Dubai on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, a growing number of respected former cricket chiefs have expressed their alarm at such moves -- which would also include a two tier test league with Australia, India and England being protected from relegation owing to their financial weight.Pakistan's former ICC president Ehsan Mani has written a letter to the ICC -- which significantly has been co-signed by Malcolm Speed and Malcolm Gray formerly high up in the Australian cricket administration and then respectively chief executive and president of the ICCe -- saying the paper needed to be withdrawn.Instead he and the other signatories -- which also include former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd -- agreed the ICC needed to re-examine the conclusions of the 2012 Woolf Report into ICC governance, which recommended, among other things, an improvement in governance standards, the appointment of independent board directors and greater transparency.Mani estimated that if the draft was given the thumbs up the loss in projected revenue to Associate and Affiliate Members would be more than $312million, an amount that would instead be redistributed largely to the boards of India, Australia and England. The biggest gainers are BCCI, ECB and CA, Mani wrote. In addition, ICC events for the period 2015-2023 will be held only in India, England and Australia. These Boards will receive hosting fees for the events in addition to the ICC Distributions they propose.A point that also needs to be addressed is; why does BCCI need more money at the expense of other countries? The domestic and international media fees that BCCI receives from playing with other members are massive and underpin BCCI's financial position. It is the richest cricket board in the world. If cricket is to grow and develop around the world more investment is required in the Associate & Affiliate countries, not less. The Associate & Affiliate countries represent some of the biggest economies in the world. If cricket could be established properly in the United States of America and China and become an Olympic sport, the ICC could double its revenues in real terms over the next 10-15 years. This requires vision and a less parochial approach.Ali Bacher, who was managing director of the then United Cricket Board (now Cricket South Africa) from 1991 to 2001 and tournament director of the 2003 Cricket World Cup in South Africa, added his powerful voice to those of Mani and Speed in arguing for a more prudent approach to be taken. The 71-year-old former South African Test captain wrote a letter to present ICC president Alan Isaac saying that cricket risked being torn apart if the proposal went through. The Position Paper put forward by BCCI, ECB and CA if accepted would lead to division and strife in world cricket as never seen before, he wrote.ICC member countries should never forget the animosity that existed particularly in the Sub-continent and the Caribbean when England and Australia had veto rights prior to 1993.I am therefore associating myself with the sentiments expressed by former ICC President Mr Ehsan Mani in his critique of the Position Paper where he espoused the recommendations of the Woolf Review.Bacher told AFP that Mani had left no stone unturned in his perusal of the proposal.A lot has happened in the last 24 hours. I have got enormous respect for Ehsan Mani and he has made a thorough assessment of the position paper.

Cook to sit out England's West Indies tour

Posted:

LONDON (AFP) - England captain Alistair Cook revealed on Sunday that he will not take part in his sides tour of the West Indies in February and March.England will play three one-day matches and three Twenty20 fixtures on the tour, as they build towards the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh in March and April.Cook oversaw Englands Ashes whitewash by Australia and subsequent 4-1 defeat in the one-day series, which culminated in a dramatic five-run loss in Adelaide on Sunday.Following the match, Cook explained that he had decided to sit out the Caribbean tour so that Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad and limited-overs coach Ashley Giles could hone their preparations for the Bangladesh trip.Asked if he would captain England against the West Indies, he told Sky Sports: No, I wont be. The Twenty20 guys have got their World Cup in Bangladesh and I think we see it as a great six weeks for them to start building the team.Theyre never together very often and it gives them and Broady and Gilo time to really have six weeks together to build for Bangladesh.Cook is due to leave Australia on Monday and he said that he will sit down with team director Andy Flower and new managing director Paul Downton to discuss the teams future when he returns to England.I fly home on Monday, and when I get home, over the next week or so Im sure there will be meetings to have, he said.It has been a challenging tour for me. I cant not say that. Its been a real tough tour for me. I am not exhausted, but Im ready to put the pads away for a couple of weeks or so.I will enjoy seeing my pregnant wife. Ill enjoy seeing a few sheep (on the family farm) for a bit.

Asfandyar Wali asks Interior Minister to name the negotiating groups

CHARSADDA: (Dunya News) – Addressing a rally at Wali Bagh on Sunday, Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali said the government is exhibiting confusion instead of restoring peace.“We need peace whether government achieves it through negotiations or by launching a military operation,” Khan said while addressing a public gathering in Charsadda on the death anniversary of Bacha Khan. ANP chief said it’s provincial government’s responsibility to restore peace. Interior Minister speaks of negotiating with few groups but the nation or parliament is not taken into confidence about it, he added.Khan further said that everyone protests against drone attacks but not against suicide bombing and the bombing in North Waziristan. He also said that the NATO supplies can be blocked at Karachi port as well. Many people want to change eighteenth amendment without realizing it could bear severe consequences, he said.ANP chief slammed Kalabagh dam project saying it will not be tolerated at any cost. Tehrik-e-Insaf’s period is about to end and the future will be of ANP, he claimed.
