Biden apologizes to Turkey president in phone call

Posted:

ANKARA (AP) - U.S. Vice President Joe Biden apologized Saturday to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was angry over comments in which Biden said Erdogan had admitted that Turkey had made mistakes by allowing foreign fighters to cross into Syria.Erdogan denied ever saying that and told reporters in Istanbul before Bidens apology that he will be history for me if he has indeed used such expressions.Biden spoke with Erdogan by phone on Saturday, the White House said. The vice president apologized for any implication that Turkey or other allies and partners in the region had intentionally supplied or facilitated the growth of ISIL or other violent extremists in Syria, the White House said, referring to an acronym for the Islamic State group. The spat comes as Turkey, a NATO ally, is expected to define the role it will play in the U.S.-led coalition against the Islamic state militants who have captured a swath of Iraq and Syria, in some cases right up to the Turkish border.Responding to questions following his speech at the Harvard Kennedy School on Thursday, Biden described Erdogan as an old friend. Biden added: He (Erdogan) said: You were right. We let too many people through. Now theyre trying to seal their border.Erdogan said: I have never said to him that we had made a mistake, never. If he did say this at Harvard then he has to apologize to us.Foreign fighters have never entered Syria from our country. They may come to our country as tourists and cross into Syria, but no one can say that they cross in with their arms, Erdogan said.He said Turkey had prevented 6,000 suspected jihadis from entering the country and deported another 1,000.This week Turkeys parliament approved a motion giving the government powers for military operations across the border in Syria and Iraq and for foreign troops to use Turkeys territory. On Friday, the two men also held a telephone discussion of ways their two countries can work together to degrade and destroy (the Islamic State group) and restore security and stability to the region, according to the White House. At Harvard, Biden said that our biggest problem is our allies in responding to the civil war in Syria. The Turks, who are great friends I have a great relationship with Erdogan, whom I spend a lot of time with the Saudis, the Emiratis, etc. What were they doing? They were so determined to take down (Syrian President Bashar) Assad and essentially have a proxy Sunni-Shia war, Biden said. What did they do? They poured hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of tons of weapons into anyone who would fight against Assad except that the people who were being supplied were al-Nusra and al-Qaida and the extremist elements of jihadis coming from other parts of the world.

Two health workers in W. Africa cured of Ebola in Europe

Paris (AFP) - A French nurse and a Senegalese doctor who contracted Ebola while working with patients in epidemic-hit west Africa have been cured of the virus in European hospitals, health officials said Saturday. The first French national to be infected with Ebola was airlifted back to France from Liberia on September 19 and received experimental treatment at a military hospital on the outskirts of Paris. The young nurse, who has not been identified, is now cured and has left hospital, French Health Minister Marisol Touraine said in a statement. And in Germany, the university hospital in the northern city of Hamburg announced Saturday that a Senegalese doctor with the World Health Organisation (WHO) has been cured of Ebola contracted in Sierra Leone. He is doing well and has not been contagious for a while now, the Hamburg-Eppendorf hospital said in a statement. We are truly happy for him that he can now return to his country. The doctor, an expert in epidemiology who was not identified, had been admitted to the German hospital in late August. There was no mention of whether he had received any experimental drugs. In France, where the health ministry has authorised using three experimental medicines, the nurse who was a volunteer with Doctors without Borders (MSF) in Liberia, the country worst-hit by the Ebola epidemic. She, was given the antiviral medicine Agivan or favipiravir, according to the Japanese firm Toyama Chemical, a subsidiary of FujiFilm Holdings, which produces the drug that was approved in Japan in March. French health officials would not confirm its use. There is no licensed treatment or vaccine for Ebola. Of several prototype treatments in the pipeline, one dubbed ZMapp has been fast-tracked for use, developed by Mapp Biopharmaceutical in California, in conjunction with the US Army.Ebola has killed more than 3,400 people in five west African countries in the worst-ever outbreak of the disease.View of the Hamburg-Eppendorf hospital in northern Germany, where a patient infected with the Ebola virus has been cured from the virus and was able to leave the hospital on October 3, 2014 MSF chief Stephane Roquee said the humanitarian group was greatly relieved that its volunteer nurse had been cured, but he warned that more health care workers in west Africa were in danger of contracting the disease. For the good of all the people in the countries most affected, MSF can only once more call on nations with the means to act immediately to contain this epidemic, he said in a statement. On Friday Germany reported that another medical official, a Ugandan doctor who was infected with Ebola in Sierra Leone while working for an Italian non-governmental organisation, had been hospitalised in Frankfurt.More than 373 medical personnel have been infected with Ebola since the outbreak of the epidemic at the start of this year, and some 208 have died, according to MSF.

Eiffel Tower's new glass floor aims to turn heads

Posted:

Paris (AFP) - A much-anticipated facelift of the Eiffel Tower will be unveiled Monday with a new glass floor to dizzy the millions of tourists who flock to Pariss best-known landmark every year. Its owners hope the formerly dowdy and draughty first floor will become as big an attraction as the viewing platform on top of the 325-metre (1,070-foot) tower -- the most visited paying monument in the world.Visitors will be able to look down through a solid glass floor to the 57 square metres below, with transparent and eco-friendly pavilions built around the towers enormous central void.To heighten the frisson of walking on air still further, the glass safety barriers around the edge have been inclined outwards.Previously the first floor was the least visited part of the tower, but its operators hope tourists will now linger at the end of their visit behind sheltering floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Paris. The 30-million euro ($37.5-million) refit, which took two years, includes shops, restaurants and a museum where the history of the 125-year-old tower will be told on seven screens. The city of Paris, which holds a majority stake in the monument, charged architects Moatti-Riviere with creating a space that would show off Gustave Eiffels impressive original ironwork and make it fully accessible for disabled visitors. The new buildings will also produce part of their own energy using windmills and solar panels, and the toilets will be run partly on rainwater. We wanted to set an example, said Jean-Bernard Bros, the president of SETE, the operator of the tower, which had a turnover of 73 millions euros ($91 million) in 2013.The Iron Lady attracts around seven million visitors a year, of which 85 percent are foreign tourists. Most visitors, however, come from France (12.5 percent) followed by Americans (8.5 percent), Britons (7.1 percent), Italians (6.7 percent) and Germans (5.7 percent). The renovation of the first floor may be now complete but work on the enormous structure built for the Worlds Fair of 1889 never ends. The tower has to be repainted every seven years, a job that requires 60 tons of paint.

Tennis: Wins for Djokovic and Sharapova in Beijing

Posted:

BEIJING (AFP) - French Open and Wimbledon champions Maria Sharapova and Petra Kvitova will battle for the China Open title after they both powered through their semi-final matches Saturday.Meanwhile, world number one Novak Djokovic continued his brilliant 100 percent record in Beijing, overpowering Andy Murray to set up a mens final against Tomas Berdych.Kvitova remains on course for a second consecutive womens title in China after she defeated Samantha Stosur 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 in her match. The world number three appears to have taken to Beijing the form she showed winning the Wuhan Open last Saturday. But the Czech players victory came after she survived a scare against Stosur, with the Australian taking the second set as she broke serve in the final game. The 2011 US Open winner and former world number four appeared to be capitalising on a lack of rhythm in Kvitovas play after the game was halted because of rain, meaning the court had to be dried and the roof closed. But the third seed in Beijing fought back in the third set, saving three break points in the second game before breaking in the fifth and seventh to make her first final in Beijing. You know, when we had the 30 minute break, its difficult, Kvitova said.I won the first set and I was playing very good. Then they stopped me.Sharapova stormed through the first set in her match with Ana Ivanovic, before the Serbian world number nine staged a brave fightback which culminated in a dramatic final game. The pair traded breaks in the first two games of the second set, before Ivanovic lost serve again, giving Sharapova a 5-4 advantage as she served for the match. Both players were then locked in a tussle, which saw four break points for Ivanovic and an equal number of match points for Sharapova. But the Russian fourth seed in Beijing came through the battle of nerves and sealed a 6-0, 6-4 victory in just under 90 minutes.Ivanovic said she did not play at her usual standard during the game.It was not about the last challenge. It was just very tough match for me today. I felt really flat on the court, she said.I was trying to come back in that second set. That point was very important. But still I had to do lot of work. I didnt feel at my best today. Both Sharapova and Kvitova will be hoping to clinch their fourth title of the year in Beijing. Sharapova has won the last four meetings between the pair.In the mens competition, it was another ruthless serving display from Djokovic, the top seed in Beijing, who overcame a brief fightback from Murray midway through the second set to claim a 6-3, 6-4 win.Djokovic broke serve in the eighth game, taking advantage of some risky groundstrokes by Murray, to take the opening set.The British sixth seed appeared to lose concentration early in the second set, dropping his serve in the first game and losing the next in a spell during which he failed to score a point. But Murray took the upper hand thereafter, forcing two break points from his opponent in the fourth game, before finally clinching a deserved break at his next attempt. The world number 11 was having his best moments of the match, taking points from Djokovic at the net during an attractive spell of tennis from both players. However, Djokovic stepped up a gear when Murray pulled in front at 4-3, winning the next three games and allowing his opponent to take just one point.I felt like I could swing through the ball. I could dictate the play from the baseline better than I did in the previous games in the second set, Djokovic said, explaining how he closed in on victory. The Serb is bidding for his fifth title in Beijing, a tournament he has won every year since 2009 -- apart from 2011 when he did not take part.He will need to beat third seed Berdych -- who won in that year -- after the world number six Czech eased past Martin Klizan of Slovakia 6-4, 6-1.

Messi, Neymar lead Barcelona to 2-0 win at Rayo

Posted:

BARCELONA (AP) - Record-chasing Lionel Messi and Neymar scored as Spanish league leader Barcelona eased to a 2-0 win at nine-man Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.Messi chipped goalkeeper Antonio Tono Rodriguez in the 35th minute for his 249th league goal, leaving him two behind the all-time scoring record held by Telmo Zarra since 1955.A minute later, Neymar added his seventh league goal in as many rounds, giving the strike pair a combined 13 of Barcelonas 19 goals in league play. This goes in runs. The connection between (Messi and Neymar) is working for us now and others will appear, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said.Rayo was spared a larger defeat thanks to Barcelona not exploiting its chances, despite the hosts finishing two men down after Jorge Morcillo and Javier Aquino received their second bookings.Barcelonas sixth win, to go with one draw, left it two points ahead of Valencia after it beat Atletico Madrid 3-1.Atleticos first league loss this season left the defending champion five points adrift of Barcelona and provisionally in third. Sevilla, Real Madrid and Celta Vigo can all pass it with wins on Sunday. Also, Eibar scored in injury time to earn a thrilling 3-3 draw with visitors Levante. While Messi will have to wait for his own landmark, Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo broke a league record that had stood since 1977 for not conceding a goal through the first seven rounds.Bravo needed to protect his goal for 20 minutes to break the record set by former Barcelona goalkeeper Pedro Artola, but he had to get low to stop Alberto Bueno from scoring in the eighth.Rayo coach Paco Jemez insists on an attacking style and a pressing defense, so it seemed only a matter of time before Barcelona took advantage of Rayos high defensive line. And moments after Messi had a goal annulled for offside, he broke through when he ran onto Gerard Piques long ball, held off his marker, and used his left foot to lift the ball over Tono. When Munir El Haddadi won another long pass from Sergio Busquets, he set up Neymar to slot the ball inside the post.I prefer attacking, Jemez said. If you sit back they can still score six. We try to get the best result possible. We dont sit back because we wouldnt do it well.Jemez pulled one center back at halftime to add Manucho up front, and Rayo lost its second center back, Morcillo, to a second booking in the 60th.But Barcelona had to settle for the comfortable win instead of the rout after Messi missed a late chances.Aquino, who went on in the second half, was sent off in stoppage time for an aggressive tackle on Busquets.Valencia stunned Atletico Madrid with three goals in the first 13 minutes before holding on to win at Mestalla Stadium. In the runup to the game, Valencia coach Nuno Espirito Santo and his players criticized what they considered Atleticos physical, intimidating style of play. But it was Valencia that was the aggressor with 22 fouls to Atleticos 14, and its attack was quick to pounce on Atletico after Miranda gifted away the opener in the sixth by heading a harmless long pass into his own goal.Andre Gomes took advantage of Atleticos disconcerted defense a minute later when he dribbled by Miranda to drill a shot under Moya.Valencia kept up the pressure, and defender Nicolas Otamendi charged in to score with a powerful header from a corner kick that Paco Alcacer forced Miranda to concede with another incursion in the area. They did a lot of damage in those 10 minutes, but I am proud of our match. Sometimes you lose in a dignified manner leaving it all on the pitch, Atletico coach Diego Simeone said.Once Atletico gathered itself, Mario Mandzukic headed in a rebound. They had a perfect chance for a second goal in the 44th when Valencias Jose Gaya handled a cross, but Diego Alves easily saved Siqueiras poorly taken spot kick.Atletico substitute Alessio Cerci was sent off in injury time with his second booking after handling the ball.Eibar had already rallied back from two goals down to level at 2-2 when Victor Casadesus restored Levantes lead in the 79th. But striker Federico Piovaccari fired in the equalizer just before the whistle to snatch the point.

Balotelli left off Italy's squad; Pelle called up

Posted:

ROME (AP) - Mario Balotelli was left off Italys squad again on Saturday by new coach Antonio Conte, who clearly has noticed the strikers troubles with his new club Liverpool.Since transferring from AC Milan after the World Cup, Balotelli has yet to score in five appearances in the English Premier League. For Italys 2016 European Championship qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Malta, in-form Southampton striker Graziano Pelle received his first call up, as did 20-year-old Empoli center back Daniele Rugani. The other forwards included were Ciro Immobile, Simone Zaza, Pablo Osvaldo, Mattia Destro and Sebastian Giovinco. With Andrea Pirlo and Daniele De Rossi unavailable, midfielders Thiago Motta of Paris Saint-Germain and Giacomo Bonaventura returned to the squad.Italy hosts Azerbaijan in Palermo on Friday, then makes a short trip to visit Malta three days later. With so little time between matches, Conte called up an extended squad of 26 players.Having won its opening qualifier in Norway, Italy is tied for the Group H lead with Bulgaria and Croatia.Balotelli was also left off the squad last month for a friendly win over the Netherlands and the Norway match, when Immobile and Zaza worked well as the forward pairing. The 29-year-old Pelle has five goals in eight matches for Southampton this season and, at 1.94 meters (6-foot-4), gives Conte a physical option inside the area.Last season, Pelle scored 23 goals in 28 matches for Feyenoord in the Dutch league but was ignored by then-Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, who resigned after the Azzurris first-round elimination from the World Cup.Pirlo could return on Sunday for Juventus from a month out with a bruised right hip while De Rossi is still out with a torn left calf muscle.Defenders Andrea Barzagli, Davide Astori and Gabriel Paletta are also out injured.

Asian Games close with China dominance weakened

INCHEON (AFP) - The Asian Games ended in the South Korean city of Incheon on Saturday with China just managing to pass 150 gold medals, while North Korea stole a march on both its rivals.Xu Xin and Liu Shiwen won the mens and womens table tennis singes titles to complete the sporting contest ahead of the closing ceremony for the 9,500 athletes, featuring Korean pop band Big Bang. The presence at the ceremony of three top North Korean officials -- who agreed to resume top-level talks with the rival South -- added to the international spotlight on the event. The table tennis golds put China on 151 for the two week contest. It was reduced by one after womens hammer thrower Zhang Wenxiu failed a doping test.Hosts South Korea came second on 79 golds and Japan third on 47.While China remains Asias sporting superpower, it has seen its dominance reduced. It won 199 gold medals at the last Games in Guangzhou in China and Incheon is the worst show of sporting power since the Games were last in South Korea in 2002.Japan, led by the Games star athlete Kosuke Hagino, took more mens swimming golds than China. Hagino won four alone. Gulf states, using imported runners from Africa, have eaten into Chinas athletics golds. The Chinese womens volleyball team lost to South Korea in the final, the first time they have not won the tournament since 1998.The mens team lost to arch-rivals Japan and South Korea and the state Xinhua news agency said this was mentally a heavy blow.North Korea, which nearly boycotted the Games, featured in some of the most dramatic action. Its weightlifters set five world records, its womens football team beat Japan in the football final and the mens team narrowly lost to South Korea through a goal scored 20 seconds from the end. The 150 North Korean athletes won 11 gold medals.Olympic Council of Asia president Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah cast aside controversies over what Muslim women should wear at the event and empty stadiums to declare the South Korean games a success. The next Asian Games will be in Jakarta in 2018 and the sheikh said the OCA would take action to avoid the transport and stadium chaos which dogged the Southeast Asian Games when it was held in the Indonesian capital in 2011.We will keep the culture of the zone (Southeast Asia) but not the technical standards of the zone, the Kuwaiti official said.We will work with Indonesia, we understand the culture of Indonesia, we know the problems of Indonesia in organising things, but we will work very closely to achieve the level of the games, he added. The sheikh stepped up calls for basketball to let women wear hijab headscarves as he backed Qatar which withdrew from the tournament because they were not allowed the headwear.Hijab has been approved in all sports, all the FIFA, volleyball, track and field -- everywhere there is hijab, only in basketball (is it banned), the OCA leader told his end of Games press conference.Chinas hammer thrower Zhang was one of six athletes to fail doping tests at the games. She was one of two gold medalists. The other was a Malaysian wushu champion, Tai Cheau Xuen.

Golf: Wilson regains Dunhill Links lead by 3 shots

ST. ANDREWS (AP) - Oliver Wilson of England closed in on a maiden European Tour title when he moved three strokes clear of the field in the third round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on Saturday.Wilson, playing with an invite as he lost full playing rights on tour in 2011, shot a 7-under-par 65 on the Old Course at St. Andrews to tally 15-under 201.On his tail at 12 under were four players: World No. 1 Rory McIlroy (64), Englands Tommy Fleetwood (62), and the French pair of Raphael Jacquelin (69) and Alexander Levy (68).Heavy overnight rain caused an hours delay to the start of play, and officials adopted the preferred lie rule, meaning Fleetwoods and Louis Oosthuizens 10-under 62s werent counted as tying the Old Course record. Before he lost his card, Wilson, a 2008 Ryder Cup player, was runner-up nine times on tour, including here in 2009. This is his 229th tour event. There is a long 18 holes still to go, so it will be a long day, but to win would mean a lot to me, said Wilson, ranked 792.I just love coming to play golf here on the three courses, and that walk up the 18th on the Old Course is pretty cool.He also wasnt fazed when McIlroy surged on the front nine to tie him briefly.McIlroy birdied five straight holes and made the turn on 30. But he hit into a bunker on the 16th, took two shots to get out and bogeyed the hole he eagled the day before. He finished with a 64, one off his best on the course. That was mission accomplished, McIlroy said. The last four holes wasnt really what I wanted but any time you shoot a score like that around St. Andrews, you have to be happy. Got myself into contention going into tomorrow, and Dad and I are going to get to play St. Andrews on his birthday tomorrow which will be a huge treat for both of us.Fellow Ryder Cup teammate Stephen Gallacher (69) at 9 under was five shots under the cut. But their other teammates Victor Dubuisson (75) at 1 under, and Martin Kaymer (71) at 1 over missed out.

Rosberg takes pole for Japanese GP

Posted:

SUZUKA (AP) - Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg claimed pole position on Saturday for the Japanese Grand Prix, beating teammate Lewis Hamilton and putting himself in good position to regain the Formula One championship lead.Rosberg claimed his eighth pole of the season with a time of 1 minute, 32.506 seconds at Suzuka, 0.197 seconds ahead of Hamilton, who was below his best all day, having crashed in morning practice.Williams driver Valtteri Bottas was third followed by teammate Felipe Massa. It was great today, but thats only one step on the way, Rosberg said. It was a real pleasure because the car is so amazing to drive and on this track which is one of the most spectacular to drive in qualifying.Hamilton leads Rosberg by three points in the overall title race 241 vs. 238. Neither driver has ever won at Suzuka. After Rosberg crossed the line for the final time, Hamilton completed his lap but had a lock-up at the hairpin and he ended up two tenths slower.I just overcooked it but the team did a great job to put the car back together, Hamilton said. I just wasnt quick enough today. I wasnt really feeling it today, dont know why.Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso was fifth and Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo, who is a distant third in the championships race with 181 points, qualified sixth for the race which is expected to be affected by a powerful typhoon in the region. With five races left, the results on Sunday could prove to be vital in the race for the championship. Suzuka has a reputation for making it difficult to pass and complicating matters is the weather forecast. While the typhoon may not arrive by Sunday, rain is predicted. While wet races can throw up unexpected results, Rosberg believed rain may compound Mercedes dominance. We are expecting it to be wet, Rosberg said. Our last experience in the wet was at Spa where the car was very quick. So Im very optimistic, even if it rains. It could be even better.Despite crashing at the end of morning practice, Hamilton set the early pace in Q1 after his team worked frantically to repair the damage to his car in time for qualifying. But Rosberg was fastest in the second qualifying session. Bottas briefly seized the lead in Q3 but Rosberg quickly grabbed it back on his final run.I was still fast but Nico was fantastic, Hamilton said. But tomorrow is the day when you get the points so Im looking forward to it with all the tricky weather to come.Saturdays qualifying was overshadowed by news earlier in the day that four-time defending champion Sebastian Vettel would be leaving Red Bull at the end of the 2014 season for a possible move to Ferrari.Vettel, who has won four of the past five races at Suzuka, has yet to win this season and finished ninth behind McLaren drivers Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button.I wasnt entirely happy with that qualifying, Vettel said. We lacked some running this morning but I wasnt able to go with the track and was on the back foot. I struggled a bit on corners that I normally love, so its not easy, but tomorrow we still have a chance if it rains.

Pakistan to face Australia T20 International today

Posted:

DUBAI (AFP) - Pakistan and Australia look to build up their squads in the shortest format of the game when they meet in the lone Twenty20 international in Dubai on Sunday, but both are missing key men.Pakistan, who were World Twenty20 champions in 2009, will be without their key spinner Saeed Ajmal who is suspended from international cricket after his bowling action was found illegal last month.Ajmal had been single-handedly shouldering Pakistans bowling attack, having taken 85 wickets in 63 Twenty20 matches -- the highest by any bowler in this format. The wily spinner has missed only three T20 matches out of the 66 Pakistan have played since his debut in 2009.If Ajmals loss wasnt enough, spinner and all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was also ruled out of the Twenty20 and three one-days after injuring a hand during a practice game on Friday night.Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi said Hafeezs loss added more responsibilities onto the teams youngsters.Hafeez always plays a key role and its unfortunate to lose him, said Afridi on Saturday. But this gives an opportunity to youngsters to fill in and show their talent. I am confident with the side I have, said Afridi. Pakistan had a miserable World Twenty20 in Bangladesh in April where they failed to reach the last four for the first time in five editions of the tournament. That prompted captain Hafeez to step down, handing the responsibility to all-rounder Shahid Afridi for a second time.Pakistan have included left-arm spinner Raza Hasan to replace Ajmal and also have an exciting leg-spinning all-rounder in Saad Nasim who is uncapped at this level.Afridi hopes he will be able to guide the young squad towards the 2016 World Twenty20.We dont have to look back, who is not available. We have to think of rebuilding the squad for the 2016 World Twenty20, said Afridi.Australia too have a new captain in Aaron Finch who took over after George Bailey stood down to concentrate on one-day cricket.Australia also went out of the last World Twenty20 in the group stages but they have won six out of their nine shorter format games this year compared to Pakistans two from four.Finch also has a young squad at his disposal after experienced all-rounder Shane Watson was ruled out of the full tour with an ankle injury. His likely replacement Mitchell Marsh was also out of the tour due to a hamstring injury.Paceman Pat Cummins will also miss out due to his involvement in a Twenty20 tournament in India, but dashing hitter Glenn Maxwell and uncapped leg-spinner Cameron Boyce have joined the squad. Finch said Pakistan will miss Hafeez. He (Hafeez) is obviously a great player and its unfortunate for Pakistan (to lose him), said Finch on Saturday.Australia are also able to include Phil Hughes, Steve OKeefee and Nathan Lyon -- part of the touring party -- for Sundays game. The Twenty20 will be followed by three one-dayers and two Tests.Squads:Pakistan: Shahid Afridi (capt), Ahmed Shahzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal, Umar Amin, Sohaib Maqsood, Awais Zia, Saad Naseem, Raza Hasan, Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz, Bilwalal Bhatti, Anwar Ali, Sohail Tanvir.Australia: Aaron Finch (capt), David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Phil Hughes, Steven Smith, Brad Haddin, James Faulkner, Sean Abbott, Mitchell Starc, Kane Richardson, Steve OKeefee, Nathan Lyon,Cameron Boyce.Umpires: Shozaib Raza (PAK) and Ahsan Raza (PAK).TV umpire: Ahmed Shahab (PAK).Match referee: Javagal Srinath (IND).

Man City go second, Lallana sparks Liverpool
