Death toll in Lahore factory collapse hits 42

Posted:

LAHORE (Dunya News/Agencies) – The death toll in the Sundar Industrial Estate factory tragedy rose to 42 on Saturday as rescuers have retrieved more dead bodies, including that of factory owner, from under the rubble at the site of a collapsed factory near Lahore.Soldiers and rescuers have pulled 108 survivors out of the rubble of the four-storeyed Rajput Polyester factory, which manufactured polythene shopping bags. Rescuers are cutting through steel and using cranes and heavy machinery to lift the debris. As, rescue workers, aided by excavators and cranes, dig through the rubble, several anxious relatives of those still missing stood at the site, hoping to learn about their loved ones.Arshad Zia, chief of the rescue operation, said that at least 400 rescue workers were involved, and that efforts had been intensified as time was running out to find more survivors. Also Read: Sundar tragedy: Man rescued after 50 hours, family buried wrong bodyHe said that rescuers have only removed rubble from the top two floors. He added that more workers were believed to have been on the bottom floors at the time of the collapse. He had not given up hope, however. Miracles can happen at any time and that s why we are moving slowly. It was unclear how many people were in the building when it collapsed or how many -- dead or alive -- may still be trapped.Rescue services spokesman Jam Sajjad Hussain said earlier Thursday it was difficult to give a specific number, but said workers had told officials that around 200 people had been inside at the time of the collapse, including the owner.Factory employee Mohammad Navid told AFP that up to 50 shift workers may have been sleeping in a part of the building that rescuers had not yet reached, and that children as young as 12 had been working in the factory. Also Read: Hopes fade for survivors of Lahore factory collapseA list of the injured from one of the three hospitals the wounded were shifted to, however, showed three 15-year-olds as the youngest patients listed.Another employee, 18-year-old Mohammad Irfan, told AFP from his hospital bed that the workers were mostly aged between 14 and 25.On Friday, a man named Shahid was rescued by the rescue teams working at the ruined factory in Sundar Industrial State after 50 hours of the incident. Shahid survived 50 hours beneath the debris of the factory and was finally rescued by the rescue teams. His relatives have already buried someone believing it to be him.Shahid was taken to Jinnah Hospital where he gave a friend’s phone number to the rescue teams. Friend was called by the hospital staff and he recognized Shahid immediately. However, the friend told that Shahid’s parents have already received the dead body of their son and have buried him as well. The question that arose now was who had been buried by Shahid’s parents, if Shahid was still alive.Talking to Dunya News, Shahid’s uncle told that he was really happy to learn that Shahid was still alive. He said that they had taken a distorted body mistaking it to be Shahid’s since the face resembled that of Shahid’s and had been mutilated due to injuries.

Oil prices hit reverse as dollar jumps on US data

Posted:

NEW YORK (AFP) - Oil prices sank for the third straight session Friday after a bullish US jobs market report sent the dollar sharply higher.US benchmark West Texas Intermediate for delivery in December fell 91 cents to $44.29 per barrel from Thursday. In London trade, Brent North Sea crude for December shed 56 cents to stand at $47.42 per barrel.Crude prices sank after the US released a surprisingly strong October jobs report that showed the economy still growing at a firm rate, with the unemployment rate falling to 5.0 percent on the back of 271,000 new jobs created, nearly double the number in September. That triggered higher expectations that the Federal Reserve will increase interest rates in December, in turn pushing the greenback up 1.2 percent against the euro and 1.1 percent against the yen to cap a week of strong gains. With crude oil prices in dollars, its rise crimps the buying power of those using other currencies. The market was already figuring we are going to have a rate increase, the numbers only supported that feeling, said Andy Lipow of Lipow Oil Associates.Another fall in the Baker Hughes North American rig count did little to shore up prices. The count, which gauges drilling activity in the United States and Canada, fell in the week to 956 rigs, down 10 from a week earlier and 1,379 fewer than a year ago.Meanwhile the US officially rejected the Keystone XL pipeline project intended to pipe more crude from Canadas tar sands south towards Gulf of Mexico refiners. The rejection was not a surprise after years of delay but nevertheless sent the share price of pipeline owner TransCanada down 4.6 percent.

Tennis: Djokovic, Murray and Ferrer into Paris semis

PARIS (AFP) - Novak Djokovic extended his win streak to 20 at the Paris Masters on Friday, defeating Tomas Berdych 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (10/8) to reach the semi-finals.Andy Murray and David Ferrer also made it through to the last four in the bottom half of the draw. The straight sets victory for world number one Djokovic also meant that he has now won 28 sets in a row -- the best run of his career -- dating back to the US Open final in early September. But he had a battle on his hands against fifth-seeded Berdych, a winner in Paris 10 years ago when he was just 20.Despite having lost all 16 of their previous hardcourt matchups, the towering Czech had the better of the first set behind a powerful display of serving and forehand blockbusters. He kept his nose in front and his chance came with a set point at 6-5 up only for Djokovic to produce a big first serve and a forehand winner off the blocked return. The tie-break, however, was dominated by the Serb winning four of the first five points to take control.Serves again dominated in the second set with both men holding firm to bring up a second straight tie-break which Djokovic edged 10/8 despite Berdych having another set point.Djokovic will play the winner of the remaining quarter-final opposing Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka for a place in Sundays final. The other semi will oppose second seed Murray against 2012 champion Ferrer.Murray made the last four of the Paris indoors for the first time, but it needed a marathon effort to see off the last remaining Frenchman, Richard Gasquet. The second seed, who had dropped just four games in reaching the last eight, was kept hard at it for two hours 38 minutes before edging through 7-6 (9/7), 3-6, 6-3.Five times previously Murray had fallen in the quarter-finals of the ATPs regular season finale.I think the level during the first set was extremely good, Murray said. After that it was a little bit up and down. But I just managed to hang in at the end after losing the momentum really in the second set.The win meant that Murray joined Roger Federer, Nadal and Djokovic as the only players to reach the semi-finals or better at all nine of the Masters 1000 Series tournaments during their career.Ferrer, who won the 2012 tournament in Paris, looked set for a straight sets canter against Isner as he led 6-3, 5-3, 40-15.But the big-serving American, who defeated Federer in the previous round, suddenly found some form with his returns to break back and then draw level at 5-5.Isner jumped out into a 5-2 lead in the tie-break before Ferrer pulled back, but it was the American who levelled the set scores against all the odds. The effort though took its toll on Isner who dropped serve early on in the decider and then needed lengthy courtside treatment for stomach pain.Ferrer had his second chance to put away the tie and this time he made no mistake winning 6-3, 6-7 (6/8), 6-2.

Tennis: 'Crazy' win puts Svitolina into Zhuhai semis

HONG KONG (AFP) - Ukraines Elina Svitolina battled back from behind to beat Carla Suarez Navarro in a crazy match and grab the last place in the WTA Elite Trophy semi-finals on Sunday. The world number 20 narrowly lost a marathon, 80-minute first set but she hit back to win 6-7 (4/7), 6-1, 6-3 and reach the last four in the inaugural tournament in Zhuhai.Svitolina, 21, will play Karolina Pliskova on Saturday, while top seed Venus Williams faces Roberta Vinci in the other semi-final at a purpose-built arena in southern China. It was such a crazy match today, Svitolina said, according to the WTA website. I was playing really well out there, and Carla was playing really well as well. It was a marathon match and really tough obviously, but I was really happy with how I played today. This is a big win.Already qualified Vinci expended little energy in her 6-1, 6-0 defeat to Slovakian alternate Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, who replaced Caroline Wozniacki after the Dane withdrew.Ex-world number one Wozniacki pulled out with a left wrist injury caused by being unable to hold her racquet properly after she accidentally cut herself with a bread knife from room service.Americas Madison Keys won the tournaments final round-robin group match 6-3, 6-2 against Chinas number one, wildcard Zheng Saisai, with neither player capable of reaching the semis. The WTA Elite Trophy is a new event with a field of 12 and intended as a second-tier version of the WTA Finals between the top eight, which was won last week by Agnieszka Radwanska.

Football: Blatter 'under medical evaluation' - spokesman

GENEVA (AFP) - Suspended FIFA president Sepp Blatter has been placed under medical observation for stress, a spokesman told AFP on Friday.Blatter, long the most powerful man in football, suffered a medical incident last weekend and had been placed under medical observation for 10 days, a Swiss radio station reported.Contacted by AFP, Blatters spokesman Klaus Stoehlker confirmed that President Blatter is under medical evaluation and that it was for stress because of the pressure he has faced in recent weeks. He is not in hospital, but at home and hopes to be back end of next week, he wrote in an email. There is no illness but a medical evaluation. Under these circumstances he is fine, the spokesman added.Blatters daughter Corinne told the Blick daily that her father had been forced to cancel all of his appointments through November 15. Blatter has been at the centre of controversy since a corruption storm hit FIFA just ahead of his reelection to a fifth term in May. Blatter said days later he would stand down. But last month, Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini were suspended for 90 days by FIFAs ethics committee, as Swiss authorities conduct a criminal investigation into alleged criminal mismanagement at the scandal-tainted world governing body. Before he was suspended, Blatter, who has been in charge of FIFA since 1998, had said he would step down on February 26, when a FIFA congress elects a new president.

Football: Ribery sues CNN over cryotherapy photo

PARIS (AFP) - France midfielder Franck Ribery is seeking $1.5 million in damages from US cable news channel CNN for using his image in a story about the death of a woman in a cryotherapy chamber, his lawyer said Friday.CNN ran a story on October 28 about the death of Chelsea Ake-Salvacion, a 24-year-old American woman who was found dead in a cryotherapy tank in a Nevada spa.CNN used a photo showing Riberys head while the footballer used a similar machine, which many high-level sportspeople often do.It results from this publication that the photograph of Mr. Franck Ribery has been associated to a womans death related to the cryotherapy treatment, lawyer Carlo Alberto Brusa said.Mr. Franck Ribery, a world-famous professional soccer player and former member of the France national soccer team, has never given his permission and consent to the use of this photograph -- and therefore of his image -- related to the aforesaid publication.Brusa said the use of the photo was an illegal association, which constitutes an infringement of the personality rights and the French droita limage (image right), is a wrongdoing for which you are responsible and which obliges you to repair all the damages suffered by Mr. Franck Ribery and his family following this morbid publication and the public reactions provoked.

Motorcycling: Lorenzo strikes first blow against Rossi in Valencia

Posted:

VALENCIA (AFP) - Jorge Lorenzo made the perfect start as he aims to beat Yamaha teammate Valentino Rossi to the MotoGP world title at the season-ending Valencia Grand Prix by going fastest in practice on Friday.Rossi, who leads Lorenzo by seven points in the championship standings, will start from the back of the grid in Valencia after kicking defending champion Marc Marquez off his bike at the Malaysian Grand Prix two weeks ago.The nine-time world champions appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the sanction was rejected on Thursday.Lorenzos time of 1min 31.111sec was nearly four tenths quicker than Rossi, who could only register the fifth fastest time of the day.The bike is working really well and I feel strong, said two-time world champion Lorenzo.Im riding well, but the bike, to be honest, is working very well for me to keep a high pace, even with old tyres, so Im very happy about the beginning of the weekend.Rossi will practically have an extra practice session during qualifying on Saturday, but said he will most likely stick to his normal routine on race weekend.Im quite happy about these two first practices because already this morning my pace was not so bad and I was also quite competitive with the used tyre, which is very important for the race, he said.We have to decide our strategy now because I think it will be difficult to use the 15 minutes of qualifying like a free practice, so I think maybe I can do the normal procedure anyway.President of the Federation of International Motorcycling (FIM), Vito Ippolito, added his voice to the calls for a more sporting spectacle in Valencia than occurred in Malaysia a fortnight ago.Ippolito said he hoped that the sport is the winner no matter who emerges victorious in the championship race. However, he did appear to lend some support to Rossi by claiming that contact was part and parcel of MotoGP otherwise the championship would be a series of processions not races.Marquez admitted earlier in the week it had been impossible to prepare for the final race of the season as normal after the controversy. The collision and subsequent sanction caused outrage in both Spain and Italy with even the Prime Ministers of each country intervening to back their respective countrymen.Marquez and some of his entourage were also involved in a scuffle with two Italian journalists at his Catalan home last weekend. And the 22-year-old admitted it was a relief just to be back on the track on home soil.Im happy because I went out on track and got back to enjoying myself riding; it was important and something I was really looking forward to doing, he said. The Honda rider shrugged off those concerns to register the quickest lap in the first practice session of the day. However, Marquez couldnt improve on his morning run in the second session leaving him 0.139sec off Lorenzos time in second.

Waqar praises England pacemen's reverse swing ability

Posted:

DUBAI (AFP) - Pakistans head coach Waqar Younis praised Englands pace duo for their ability to reverse swing the ball, saying it was seen as suspicious in his time but must now be considered an art.James Anderson and Stuart Broad surprised with their reverse swing during Englands 2-0 loss against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates. But Waqar, regarded as one of the main exponents of reverse swing along with his former new-ball partner Wasim Akram, said he saw nothing suspicious about the English duos bowling. Its always exciting to see the ball reverse swing, said Waqar, accused by the British media of tampering with the ball on Pakistans controversial tour of England in 1992.Wasim and Waqar destroyed many a team with their ability to reverse swing the ball. Waqar, famous for his toe crushing yorkers, took 373 wickets in Tests and 416 in one-day internationals as compared to Wasims 414 in Tests and 502 in one-days.Asked whether he had seen anything suspicious in Anderson and Broads ability to reverse swing the ball -- described by Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez as incredible -- Waqar said: Honestly speaking they (England bowlers) know how to reverse swing the ball.In these conditions (dry pitches of United Arab Emirates) the ball gets rough earlier. But when they do it, its an art, when we did it was not. Waqar said he was convinced that other teams would also learn the art.We managed it because we came from the region where the ball gets dry and rough quickly and we did it with our ability, he said.England learnt it fast and even Australians have learnt this.Waqar said Englands pace attack was superior than Pakistan. When you compare fast bowling of the two teams, without a doubt, they have experienced and fitter bowlers than ours, plus we had both left armers and not very experienced, so there was a difference.Anderson took 13 wickets -- the most for England in three Tests -- while Broad finished with seven. To me Anderson is one of the best bowlers since my time was over and Dale Steyn (of South Africa) is closer to him. They are the two best bowlers and then Broad is fitter and a true fighter.Waqar said Anderson used various tricks to add to his swing. He is a smart bowler and hiding the ball in his hand is also a good tactic which makes it difficult for the batsman to judge which side is shining, said Waqar of Anderson who now has 426 wickets in 110 Tests -- eighth in all time Test wicket-takers.

Disappointed Bayliss rues England's missed chances

Posted:

DUBAI (AFP) - Englands head coach Trevor Bayliss admitted his team wasnt good enough following their 2-0 series defeat against Pakistan, saying all three matches could have been won had chances been availed.Pakistan thumped England by 127 runs in the third and final Test to take the series and with it rose to number two in the rankings, leaving England sliding down to sixth.Pakistan won the second Test in Dubai by 178 runs while the first Test ended in a draw in Abu Dhabi.Asked about his reaction to the defeat, Bayliss replied: Its obviously one of disappointment. The players, as well, at the moment are very disappointed -- obviously knowing that we had a chance to win probably three matches here.We were in all three with a chance of winning, but in the end we werent quite good enough.England were deprived of a dramatic win in the first Test when bad light ended play with the tourists needing just 25 runs. They then dismissed Pakistan for 378 and looked set for a good lead in Dubai before being bowled out for 242.England also had a 72-run first innings lead in the final Test in Sharjah before allowing Pakistan to set a 284-run target by dropping crucial catches.Bayliss said there were mixed gains from the series. There are some positives to take out of the series, but also some negatives. From a batting point of view, obviously the captains (Alastair Cook) batting was superb, and so was (Joe) Roots, said Bayliss of Cooks 263 and Roots 85 in the first Test. But I think the younger, inexperienced batters all -- probably bar Moeen (Ali), at the top of the order -- spent some quality time in the middle, proving they can bat in these conditions for an amount of time.If you can do it once, you can do it again -- and you can do it for longer.Bayliss said there were lessons to be learnt. If theyve got to learn something from this tour, its about working out what they did well in those innings and doing it for longer the next time.I think once you lose one or two wickets, its down to the next guy who comes in to actually say to himself I know were trying to chase some runs here, but just for the next half-an-hour or so, what have I actually got to do here to keep us in the game?Bayliss admitted he has a problem finding a suitable partner for Cook.It certainly wasnt as successful as wed have liked, or Im sure Moeen would have liked, said Bayliss of using Ali as an opener, Cooks seventh partner in the last three years.Hales is the other opener in the squad. I think hed be desperately unlucky not to go to South Africa. Weve got a chat in about a weeks time, so Im sure that will be high on the agenda, said Bayliss of Englands selection for next months tour.

Pietersen blames 'archaic' structure for Pakistan defeat

Posted:

LONDON (AFP) - England exile Kevin Pietersen has said the archaic structure of domestic cricket lies behind the national sides Test series defeat by Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.Top-order batsman Pietersen, whose England career was effectively ended this year because of trust issues, called on the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to insist on more spin-friendly pitches and reduce the number of county clubs from the current 18. The players are not to blame, said Pietersen, currently playing Twenty20 cricket in his native South Africa, on the BreatheSport website. You cannot have the surfaces youre playing on in county cricket and think that the pool of players (available) to pick from, just a level down from the international Test stars, are going to be good enough to fill the gap and play well in these conditions.Englands spinners were outbowled by their Pakistan counterparts, while a team with relatively little collective experience of playing on turning pitches suffered batting collapses in the second and third Tests. You cant have spinners bowling on green wickets (just) because counties want results, said Pietersen. You just cant have it.Meanwhile Peter Such, the ECBs lead spin coach, agreed more responsive pitches were part of the solution. We need to find a way to get those overs into our young bowlers, said Such, himself a former England off-spinner.Ideally you want an environment that is more spin-friendly -- and the surfaces we play on are the most important factor in that, it determines so much of the game we play.Pietersen, however, was adamant that England had to reduce the number of professional county cricketers. What needs to happen is the counties need to be shrunk, he said. There need to be fewer teams. You need fast bowlers only playing eight to 10 first-class games over six months. They can then bowl fast for six months. You need spinners bowling on Test match wickets, so that they learn to bowl on them. You need batsmen knowing theyve got to bat long, and really well, to get runs. The whole environment then becomes a lot more Test-equipped.Green, seam-friendly pitches have long been a part of the English cricket landscape, but Pietersen said domestic conditions had to change if they were to improve their away form. They (will then) know theyre not going to be playing on a green seamer, and having a two-day game because dibbly-dobblies are going to knock you over, the former England captain explained.Things need to happen. The ECB needs to manage all the (groundsmen) -- they need to prepare Test wickets. We cannot blame the players in this situation. The structure is to blame. It is archaic, and it needs to change.

S. Africa probe international syndicate in corruption fear

Posted:

JOHANNESBURG (AFP) - South Africa are probing attempts by an international syndicate to corrupt domestic cricket matches, the national body said Friday.Cricket South Africa (CSA) said their anti-corruption and security unit is being assisted by the International Cricket Council (ICC).This is a timely reminder that we can never drop our guard in protecting the integrity of the game at all levels, CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat said.We have an effective partnership with the South African Cricketers Association to ensure that our players, support staff and administrators are educated about the nefarious activities of corrupt people. And they are aware of the consequences of falling victim to any shady approaches. We will relentlessly pursue, under our code and the law of the land, any persons we believe to be involved in corrupting the game and, with police assistance, will also seek criminal prosecution. Our attitude to corruption will always be one of zero tolerance and we are confident that the necessary structures are in place to effectively deal with any activity. While the national team is on a long tour of India, the South African domestic season began with one-day games followed, from last Sunday, by a Twenty20 competition. The T20 Challenge involves the six top-tier franchises and has attracted former England skipper and star batsman Kevin Petersen on a five-match contract.

Kiwis bring in Wagner for injured Southee

Posted:

BRISBANE (AFP) - New Zealand have summoned Neil Wagner into the Australian tour squad as a backup for injured fast bowler Tim Southee, team officials said on Friday.Southee left the field on the second day of the first Test against Australia in Brisbane with back trouble and will continue to be assessed by medical staff, officials said.It is not known whether Southee will bowl again if required in Brisbane Test in what is a big blow for the Kiwis, who have been struggling for the opening two days at the Gabba.Obviously, it was a blow with Tim today, team batting coach Craig McMillan said. Hes got some stiffness in the back, thats something that will be monitored overnight and see how he wakes up tomorrow.Well see how he scrubs up over the next couple of days in terms of his availability to bowl in this Test match.Southee, who had a scan after Thursdays opening days play, pulled up with a back disc injury after delivering the last ball of his 24th over in Fridays morning session. He left the field with the team trainer and did not return.Southee is the spearhead of the Black Caps bowling attack and has taken 144 wickets in 41 Tests.

India build 142-run lead over South Africa

Posted:

MOHALI (AFP) - Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin battered top-ranked South Africa with a five-wicket haul to leave India in control of the bowler-dominated first Test in Mohali on Friday.India, shot out for 201 in the first innings on a dusty, dry wicket, hit back to skittle the Proteas for 184 on the second day at the I.S. Bindra stadium. The hosts went to stumps on 125 for two in their second knock to take an overall lead of 142 runs with eight wickets in hand in conditions that are tailor-made for the bowlers.Murali Vijay followed his top-score of 75 in the first innings with 47, sharing a second wicket partnership of 86 with Cheteshwar Pujara, who remained unbeaten on 63 with six fours and a six. The pair came together after left-handed Shikhar Dhawan bagged a pair, edging Vernon Philander to the slip cordon for the second time in the match without scoring.Vijay fell to a brilliant one-handed catch at short-leg by substitute fielder Temba Bavuma off Imran Tahir, but Indian captain Virat Kohli kept Pujara company at stumps on 11. South Africa missed pace spearhead Dale Steyn, who did not take the field in the second innings due to a tight right groin, according to Cricket South Africa. The tourists spin bowling coach Claude Henderson said Steyn was unlikely to bowl again in the Test as India attempt to build a match-winning lead on a treacherous pitch that has already seen 22 wickets fall on the first two days.I think he is struggling, Henderson said of Steyn. I cant see him bowling tomorrow.Henderson said a target of above 200 will be tough to chase in the fourth innings. We need early wickets tomorrow to try and create pressure, he said. A target beyond 200 will be challenging but I have seen this team doing some special things. Anything can happen because there is a lot of time left in the match.Ashwin proved almost unplayable as he finished with five for 51, reaching the 150-wicket mark in his 29th Test with the dismissal of last man Imran Tahir. All 10 South African wickets fell to Indian spinners with left-armer Ravindra Jadeja taking three for 55 and leg-break bowler Amit Mishra taking two for 35. AB de Villiers (63) and skipper Hashim Amla (43) were the only visiting batsmen to offer resistance after Dean Elgars 37 as the rest failed to reach double figures.De Villiers was lucky to cross seven after television umpire Vineet Kulkarni ruled that Jadeja had bowled a no-ball when the batsman was caught in the slips by Kohli.I like taking five-wicket hauls, said Ashwin. Its not a track where you spin and get five wickets. You have to work on variations and pitch it right. It will be a challenge batting in the fourth innings. But I think it was better to bat on today than it was yesterday. Honestly its the batting that makes the wicket look what it is.South Africa, who started the day at 28-2, lost three wickets in the morning session -- all of them to Ashwin -- to go to lunch on 127-5.Elgar and Amla put on 76 for the third wicket to take the score to 85-2 before the last eight wickets crashed for 99 runs.Amla appeared to be finding form after a lean patch in the one-day series before Ashwin had him stumped as the batsman stepped out of the crease to smother the spin and missed the line of the ball.

Quetta: Hospital lack basic facilities for Congo, 20 killed so far

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Fatima Jinnah General and Chest Hospital Quetta does not have the facility for diagnoses of Congo virus that has killed 20 people so far. The laboratory of the hospital does not have required equipment to carry out the blood test for the fatal disease, reported Dunya News. There is only one isolation ward in the hospital with the facility of just ten beds and even in that ward there are no separate cabins for the patients. The so called isolation ward is in middle of the hospital building instead of being at some far away corner. The location of the ward makes the atmosphere quite vulnerable for the virus to spread. The blood samples are sent to Islamabad for the diagnoses or the patients send the samples to Karachi to the private laboratories. In both cases it takes at least 2 days for the samples to get the diagnosis while the virus is very dangerous and in most of the cases the patient dies before the result of the blood samples arrives back at the hospital. It is also worth mentioning that the small ward of the hospital is not only catering the patients from inside the country but also from Afghanistan. While the hospital lacks basic needs of the doctors treating the Congo patients. The hospital does not have any special protected dress for doctors, PCR machine, ventilators or blood bank.A total of 100 Congo cases were registered this year while 20 of which died during the treatment.
