Mourinho offers hope to Rooney after dropping him

Its strange too because we switched off. We lost our confidence and strength.We started to try to do something but alone, not as a team. Now I want to speak with the players to understand what happened.We changed system and the shape. I wanted to preserve Vardy and Mahrez for the next match.

Guardiola hopes to make Sergio Aguero even better player

SWANSEA, United Kingdom (AFP) - Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has vowed to make Sergio Aguero an even better player.The Argentine striker scored two goals on his return to City colours as the visitors made it 10 straight wins in league and cup football this season with a 3-1 victory away to Swansea on Saturday.Having missed the previous three games due to suspension, Aguero took only eight minutes to give City the lead.Fernando Llorente levelled five minutes later, but Agueros penalty, in the 65th minute, and a third from Raheem Sterling, 13 minutes from time, made the game safe. Charlotte police to release video of black man's fatal shooting

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Charlotte police will release footage of the shooting death of a black man during an encounter with officers in the state of North Carolina, Chief Kerr Putney told reporters Saturday.The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police chief said he will release both the body-worn camera footage and dash-cam footage that captured the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, whose Tuesday death has triggered days of unrest and calls for the videos release.Police had previously refused to release the footage, which they said showed that the 43-year-old African American had posed a threat to officers.What I need is confirmation that when I release what Im going to release, there is no adverse impact on the State Bureau of Investigations investigation. And I have that assurance now, Putney said.Scott was shot and killed at a Charlotte apartment complex during an encounter with police searching for another person wanted for arrest.Police say he had a handgun. His family says he was holding a book.Scotts family has already released two minutes of smartphone footage filmed by his wife, which does not show the shooting itself and does not conclusively answer the question of whether he was armed.Putney said that officers saw marijuana and a weapon at which point they decided the situation posed a safety issue for us and the public.He added that DNA evidence would also be released.Scotts death is the latest in a string of police-involved killings of black men that have fueled outrage across America.

Obama opens new African American Museum amid national racial strife

WASHINGTON (AFP) - President Barack Obama hailed Saturday the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, a long-awaited institution dedicated to the many threads of black suffering and triumph in the United States.The first black president of the United States cut the ribbon to inaugurate the striking 400,000-square-foot (37,000-square-meter) bronze-clad edifice before thousands of spectators gathered in the US capital to witness the historic opening, at a time of growing racial friction.Beyond the majesty of the building, what makes this occasion so special is the larger story it contains, said Obama -- just a few months before he leaves office -- at the star-studded public ceremony that included the likes of Stevie Wonder and Oprah Winfrey.African-American history is not somehow separate from our larger American story. Its not the underside of the American story, he said. It is central to the American story.The Smithsonians 19th addition to its sprawling museum and research complex is the first national museum tasked with documenting the uncomfortable truths of the countrys systematic oppression of black people, while also honoring the integral role of African-American culture.A clear-eyed view of history can make us uncomfortable, Obama said. It is precisely of that discomfort that we learn and grow and harness our collective power to make this nation more perfect. He said that such incident do not help Kashmiris as it diverts the attention from atrocities of Indian forces in Kashmir.Aziz also said that Pakistan’s interference is not possible in Indian occupied Kashmir as there is a big Indian force to protect the borders. But still Pakistan is ready to provide help in investigation.

Pakistan beat West Indies by 16 runs in the second T20

DUBAI (Dunya News) - Pakistan defeated West Indies by 16 runs in the second T20 match in Dubai Internationa Stadium on Saturday, reported Dunya News.Pakistani batsmen were asked to bat first by West Indies on a spin friendly wicket, after tourists won the toss. Pakistani openers could not get off to an ideal start and scored just 4 runs in 2 overs. Dangerous Sharjeel Khan was dismissed in the third over after scoring just 2 runs.Babar Azam and Khalid Latif had 54 runs partnership for the second wicket, after which Babar Azam was dismissed after scoring 18 and Khalid Latif got run out after scoring 40.Captain Sarfraz Ahmad and Shoaib Malik had a big partnership of 69 runs off 46 balls, which brought up Pakistans 150 in the 19th over. Shoaib Malik scored 37 runs off 28 balls whereas captain Sarfraz Ahmad remained not out on 46.Pakistan got their first wicket in the third over when Johnson Charles was dismissed after scoring 10 runs. Imad Wasim got his wicket as Umar Akmal took the catch. In the next over Sohail Tanvir got the second wicket as Evin Lewis was caught in the slip by Sharjeel Khan.Andre Fletcher caused some resistance and added 29 runs for visitors. Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard scored 18 runs each but their dismissals took the match away from West Indies. They were 89/7 but then Sunil Narine contributed 30 runs as West Indies finished at 144/9 in 20 overs.Hasan Ali and Sohail Tanvir took 3 wickets each whereas Wahab Riaz, Imad Wasim and Muhammad Nawaz picked up one scalp each. Sarfraz Ahmad was named man of the match for scoring 46 runs.

Karachi: Five injured as bus falls from Natha Khan bridge
