RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug 13, 2016 (AFP) - Joseph Schooling pulled off a stunning upset at the Rio Olympics on Friday by beating Michael Phelps in the 100m butterfly to win Singapores first ever gold medal.Asian champion Schooling, 21, completed a wire-to-wire victory to deny Phelps a fourth successive title in the event, winning in a Games record 50.39sec as Phelps, amazingly, tied with both Chad le Clos and Laszlo Cseh for the silver.The American, who had won four finals in Rio to take his record tally to a staggering 22 golds, clocked 51.14, along with fierce rivals le Clos and Cseh.Victory in Fridays fly would have given Phelps a 14th individual Olympic title, but Schooling proved too strong.Schooling, who took bronze at last years world championships, punched the water and roared with delight as Phelps swam over to pat him on the back before le Clos ruffled the youngsters hair.Phelps, competing in his fifth and final Games, will be odds-on to win a fifth gold medal in Sundays 4x100m medley relay -- an event the Americans have never lost at the Olympics -- to finish with a total of 23 golds.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug 12, 2016 (AFP) - The world sports tribunal on Friday suspended Chinese swimmer Chen Xinyi over a failed dope test and definitively kicked a Polish weightlifter and Bulgarian runner out of the Rio Olympics.European champion weightlifter Tomasz Zielinksi and Bulgarian 3,000m steeplechase runner Silvia Danekova were the first definitive exclusions ordered by a special anti-doping division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Rio, it said in a statement.But with doping casting a vast shadow over the Games, other cases are already due to be heard by the CAS which has set up an emergency panel in Rio.Chen, 18, a rising star in the Chinese swimming team, tested positive for diuretic hydrochlorothiazide after coming fourth in the womens 100m butterfly on Sunday. She came just 0.09 sec behind bronze medallist Dana Vollmer of the United States.CAS said the athlete accepted a provisional suspension on a voluntary basis and promised a final decision on her case before the end of the Games on August 21.Chen has asked for a second test on her sample and a hearing on the case, the Chinese Swimming Association said earlier. But no details have been given on what basis the swimmer could be challenging the failed test.Diuretics can help to mask other stronger banned performance enhancing substances.- Declared ineligible -=======================Russia is at the centre of a major doping controversy. It is time to free country from corrupt people and change system: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that it is time to free country from the corrupt politicians and change the system, reported Dunya News.Imran Khan released his video statement in which he asked men, women and veterans to come to his rally in big numbers like Peshawar rally. The rally would start from Rawalpindi and would at Faisal Chowk Islamabad, where Independence Day would be celebrated.
